Scranton Book Club - The Long Loneliness

Sunday, 20 March, 2022

Please Join Fr. James Redington and Fr. Patrick Rodgers for The University of Scranton Book Club Spring Read! For this encounter the selection is the acclaimed autobiography of the American Catholic Social Activist Dorothy Day, The Long Loneliness. Dorothy’s life is one filled with many highs and lows, but through it all she never turned from her life-long vocation to be in solidarity with the poor and marginalized of the world. By the time of her death in 1980, she was already acclaimed a saint by countless multitudes. Her cause for canonization was open by St. John Paul II in the year 2000.

The book discussion will be broken down into two sessions:

Part 1 & 2 on Sunday, February 20 at 7 p.m.

Part 3 on Sunday, March 20 at 7 p.m.

The Scranton Book Club is a completely digital experience that you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home. Read along with fellow Royals and friends and then tune-in for scheduled Zoom discussions and reflections with Executive Director of the Jesuit Center, Rev. Patrick Rogers, S.J. and Rev. James D. Redington, S.J.
