Wellness Day for Faculty and Staff
Staff and Faculty are invited to attend Wellness Day on Wednesday, March 27. The daylong event begins with registration and coffee at 8:30 am in The DeNaples Center lobby. Please register in advance at the link below.
Keynote speaker will be Mary Elaine Southard, RN,MSN,AHN-BC, Integrative Health practitioner and CEO of Integrative Health Consulting and Coaching and co-author of “The Art and Science of Nurse Coaching” . Ms. Southard will present, The Future of Wellness: Exploring health, expanding options, empowering choices”.

Various Workshops will be held throughout the day including such topics as; CPR for infants/children and for adults, Food fights (what to do with picky eaters), Childhood obesity, Gluten Free: Is it for You?, Peacemakers, Vegetable gardening, Elder Law, Brain health and more.
A health screening will be held in the McIlhenny Ballroom in the DeNaples Center from 11am - 2pm. Staff can have their blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose checked (no fasting required). Blue Cross Representatives will be available to help staff fill out the 2013 online health assessment. In addition there will be representatives of various organizations that reflect our belief that wellness encompasses eight dimensions: physical, emotional, spiritual, social, intellectual, environmental and career/work.
In the afternoon, staff can sample activity classes like; gentle yoga, dancing with the staff, light weights and abs, volleyball, golf, and basketball.
Participants will have a chance to win raffle prizes.
