COURSE DESCRIPTION: Few countries had a greater impact on the history of the 20th Century than Germany, at the heart of Europe and the center of the maelstroms of the First World War, fascism and communism, the Second World War and the Cold War. This course will examine six years that forged both Germany’s and Europe’s destiny in the 20th Century. The years will be 1918, 1933, 1943, 1949, 1961 and 1989.
