Events Calendar

The University of Scranton will kick off the annual campaign to raise funds for the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties with a carnival of events on the Dionne Green, October 6, 2015 from 11:00am-2:00pm. Activities include a consecutive basketball hoops competition, raffle baskets, 50/50, and the head-banging game Rock Band. Get your band mates (4) together, name your band before October 6, and compete as a team for prizes. Each activity is a $2 donation per person to enter with all proceeds going to the local United Way.

Edward Steinmetz, Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration, launched the campaign on Friday saying "The United Way campaign is our opportunity to extend a hand and help our neighbors in need." Funds raised by University of Scranton employees in the form of single donations or an easy payroll deduction, support services and programs offered by the local United Way.

Kickoff events and Fan Day are open to all faculty, staff and students. Special events this year include:

Kickoff Day: October 6, 11:00am-2:00pm, Dionne Green (Rain venue Byron Gym). Shoot hoops, form your own band, enter drawings to win baskets, 50-50.  If the goal of $200 is met on kickoff day, Pete Sakowski, Communications, will get a haircut!

Fan Day: October 14 - Envelopes will be located in each department for $2 donations to be collected by HR personnel in advance of October 14. All who donate can wear their fan favorites on Fan Day.

Grand Finale: November 5 - 3:00pm, LSC 133. Don't miss the exciting unveiling of the makeover winners.
