Annual Celebration of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Greater Scranton MLK Commission will host the Annual MLK Celebration and Awards Dinner on Sunday, January 19, 2014 beginning at 2:30 p.m. in The DeNaples Center, McIlhenny Ballroom, 4th floor.
The theme for the weekend of events is "Now is the Time", a quote taken directly from Dr. King's I Have a Dream speech in Washington D.C in 1963. Featured speakers include:
Mr. Sherman Wooden, Director of the Center for Anti-Slavery Studies; Rabbi Moshe Saks, Temple Israel; Ms. Taylor James, Student, The Commonwealth Medical College; Mr. Keith Williams, Center for Independent Living/Access Financial Management Services; Mr. Dan Duffy, Lackawanna College Police Academy; and the keynote speaker - Mr. Irvin Scott, Ph.D., Director of Education, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
