The Causes and Resolutions of National and Ethnic Conflicts: A Global Review
Brendan O’Leary, Lauder Professor of Political Science

This lecture will examine the causes and (intermittently) successful resolutions of national and ethnic conflict across the world, paying special attention to the success or otherwise of power-sharing systems. Particular attention will be given to Ireland, Iraq, Syria and Ukraine. Dr. O’Leary will draw upon his experiences as a constitutional and political advisor as well as critically engaging literature from political science.
