Ellacuría Teach-In for Racial Justice

The University of Scranton’s Ellacuría Initiative will host a Teach-In for Racial Justice on Tuesday, March 29, all day, in LSC 133.

The Teach-In allows space for University students, faculty, and staff to explore issues of racial justice from several disciplinary perspectives. Sessions will be held during each class period, led by different faculty: 

8:30-9:45        Racial Justice in Healthcare
Dr. Jennifer Schwartz & Dr. Lori Walton, Physical Therapy

10:00-11:15    What Color is God? Theology and Race
Dean Michelle Maldonado & Dr. Cyrus Olsen, Theology

11:30-12:45    Re-membering Blackness at The University of Scranton: History as a Call to Action, Institutional Black History Project members

1:00-2:15        Racial Justice in Biomedical Ethics

2:30-3:45        Resistance Rhetorics: The Social Activism of Naomi Osaka & Colin Kaepernick, Dr. Alicia Hatcher, English & Theatre

6:00-7:15        bell hooks and the Promise of Liberatory Education
