Call to Action Poster Workshop with Emmanuel Wisdxm

Saturday, 02 March, 2024

In conjunction with Black History Month 2024, the focus of which is African Americans and the Arts, the Hope Horn Gallery at the University of Scranton will present a Call-To-Action Poster Workshop directed by artist Emmanuel Wisdxm of Philadelphia, PA. Wisdxm is known in the Scranton community as the painter responsible for the expressive lettering found on the city’s Martin Luther King mural on Mulberry Street.

The workshop will be presented in a zoom and hands-on format in the Kane Forum of Leahy Hall on March 2, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It will be offered to university students free of charge, and will accommodate forty participants, who are asked to pre-register for the event. Workshop materials, including poster paper, drafting rulers, pencils, erasers, and brush markers, will be provided, along with a simple lunch.

This project is presented in cooperation with the Weinberg Library; Cultural Centers; History Department, Black Studies Concentration; and Office of Equity and Diversity through a Diversity Initiatives Grant at the University of Scranton.
