Planning to run for public office in the next two years or to support a campaign?
Learn how to run a successful campaign for state, county, city, borough, township or school board.
This regional event is a collaborative effort of the LWV of Lackawanna County; co-sponsored by the University of Scranton's Political Science Department and WNEP-TV. The material presented is applicable to anyone considering a run for public office in Pennsylvania. Men and womenare encouraged to attend.
Speakers will cover the practicalities of completing a petition to get on the ballot, organizing a campaign, raising money, and the use of various forms of media. A session will cover how to become a poll worker (a paid position on Election Day). The program will wrap up with a panel of speakers sharing lesson learned from from campaigns and office holding.
The cost for the half day workshop is $40 for non-LWV members, $25 for LWV members, and $15 for students. The fee covers the workshop, handouts and a continental breakfast.
