Third Annual Reentry Symposium

The Lackawanna County Reentry Task Force is dedicated to helping individuals transitioning into society from the Lackawanna County Prison System. The third annual symposium will feature State Senator John Blake and Scranton Police Chief Carl Graziano as well as a panel of professionals, including local judges, chief probation officer, warden, and others who will discuss the escalating prison population, along with the challenges facing our community and reentering citizens. Presentations will also be provided by former offenders about the struggles and obstacles incarcerated individuals face when they are re-entering society. A special thank you to the Jesuit Center of the University of Scranton, Reverend Ryan Maher, S.J. Director, and Harry Dammer, Ph.D., Sociology/Criminal Justice for their generosity and support in co-sponsoring the symposium.

 

Schedule of Events:

 

  • 8:30 a.m.:  Registration/Expo
  • 9:00 a.m.:  Opening Remarks
  • 9:15 a.m.:  Speaker presentations begin
  • 10:20 am:   Break/Expo
  • 10:45 a.m.: Panel Discussion/Community Speakers
  • 1:00 p.m.:  Symposium closes
