The onslaught in Paris in January carried out by Islamic extremists that left dead the editors and staff of the satirical newspaper, Charlie Hebdo as well as some shoppers at a Kosher supermarket has gotten the world’s attention. A rally ensued attracting leaders from around the world to join thousands of Parisians to protest the outrage. In the context of the attacks and their aftermath we will discuss the issues of freedom of speech and freedom of religion.
