Thursday, 30 April, 2015
This 30 minute film chronicles the plight of a community of Biloxi-Chitimacha-Choctaw Indians who inhabit the Isle de Jean Charles off the coast of Louisiana. Their homeland is slowly being eroded due to rising sea levels caused by our changing climate. According to their website http://www.cantstopthewater.com/ "The Indians of Isle de Jean Charles have been called America's first 'climate refugees'." The screening will be followed by a Q & A session with filmmaker Rebecca Ferris.
