2016 Lenten Mission

Thursday, 03 March, 2016

The 2016 Eastern Catholic Lenten Mission is an event that aims to cultivate and revive the life of the Spirit within the greater Scranton community in preparation for the feast of Holy Pascha (Easter). It is a cooperative venture among four local Byzantine Catholic parishes in the area, and is co-sponsored by the Theology Department and Campus Ministries at the University of Scranton.

This year the mission will be led by Fr. Richard Rohrer, a Ruthenian priest from North Carolina. After a Lenten prayer service, Fr. Rohrer will speak on the topic of Mercy, particularly as it relates to his extensive experience working with Project Rachel, the post-abortion healing ministry of the Catholic Church.

Confessions will be available at 6pm before the prayer service at 6:30pm, with Fr. Rohrer’s talk and light refreshments to follow. All are welcome to attend.

Parking will be available in lot Z (Mulberry St. & Taylor Ave.) as well as in the metered spaces on the streets near Ciszek Hall.
