American Red Cross Blood Drive

Campus Ministries’ Center for Service & Social Justice is hosting a double day blood drive on Tuesday April 5 and Wednesday April 6 from 10am-4pm in the Long Center Lobby. Contact tiffany.brown@redcross.org if you are interested in volunteers, or email ellen.judge@scranton.edu if you have questions regarding the drive. This drive is being co-sponsored by The Student Nurse Association.
To ensure the safety of blood donation for both donors and recipients, all volunteer blood donors must be evaluated to determine their eligibility to give blood. The final determination will be made on the day of the donation at the blood drive or blood donation center. If you were deferred from donating in the past, you may be able to donate again.

Platelets | Every 7 days, up to 24 times / year |
Plasma | Every 28 days, up to 13 times / year |
Double Red Cells | Every 112 days, up to 3 times / year |
Blood Donors Must:
- Be in good general health and feeling well*
- Be at least 17-years-old in most states, or 16-years-old with parental consent if allowed by state law - see more information for 16-year-old donors
- Weigh at least 110 lbs. Additional weight requirements apply for donors 18-years-old and younger and all high school donors.
