Faces of Homelessness- Speaker
Thursday, 21 April, 2016
The lack of interaction between different groups of our society, combined with impersonal or inaccurate descriptions of homelessness posed by the media and public officials, contributes to a distancing of those who have housing from those who do not. As a result, homelessness is perceived as an abstract social problem.
During this event, speakers will give a unique and necessary approach to addressing homelessness by establishing a significant platform for those whom homelessness affects directly by talking personally about their experiences while advocating for themselves and others. Ultimately, The Faces of Homelessness Speakers’ Bureau seeks to build bridges with the rest of society so that we may work cooperatively to end this disgrace called homelessness.
DeNaples Center, 900 Mulberry St., room 405 from 11:30-1 on Thursday April 21.
