Organ virtuoso, composer and audio-video producer/engineer Dr. Frederick Hohman will once again bring his unique talents to The University of Scranton performing on the university’s historic 1910 Austin Opus 301 organ, one of a small number of surviving examples of early 20th-century American symphonic organs. A native of St. Louis, Mo., Dr. Hohman has presided over the inauguration of some of America's largest and most noteworthy new and restored pipe organs, and has appeared as organ soloist with symphony orchestras throughout the country. Since he began touring in 1984, he has appeared as guest organ recitalist at churches, cathedrals, universities and music festivals throughout the world. Mr. Hohman has also served as producer/engineer on more than 180 Pro Organo recordings, and as producer/host on more than two dozen episodes of the television/home video series, “Midnight Pipes.”
