The Allentown Rescue Mission has been serving the needs of the homeless and needy in the Lehigh Valley for more than 100 years. The Mission provides rescue, rehabilitation and restoration for homeless men in crisis.

Time of service project: 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. April 1, 2017

Location: 355 Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA

Immediately following the project (around 1:30 / 2 p.m.) Rev. Mark Searles '08 will celebrate Mass for volunteers and others from the alumni community who want to join at the chapel at Central Catholic High School, 301 N. 4th St., Allentown, PA, 18102. If you cannot volunteer you are still welcome to attend Mass; if so, please email daverdman@gmail.com

Miscellaneous information: Volunteers will help with the purchase of food for lunch for about 35 men and complete food prep at the Mission prior to serving. On the day of the event, our group will arrive at 11 a.m., prepare the meal, serve the men at 12:30 p.m. and do minor clean- up.  Volunteers who are not cooking and serving will participate in a project to stock shelves in the Mission pantry. (Volunteers may rotate between both duties). All volunteers please fill out a volunteer form downloadable here and bring to the event. While there are meters directly in front of the Mission, there are non-metered spaces just a few yards further on both sides of Hamilton Street.
