Ignatian Values in Action Lecture -- Dr. James O'Connell

Thursday, 13 September, 2018

The University of Scranton's annual Ignatian Values in Action Lecture is designed to introduce the first-year class to the mission of the university though the work of a person/organization that embodies and enacts our Jesuit values. This year's lecturer is Dr. James O'Connell, assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and founding leader of the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP). His memoir, Stories From the Shadows: Reflections of a Street Doctor, chronicles his 30+ years of administering medicine to the homeless population in Boston. It is the 2018-19 RoyalRead.

This lecture is open to the public and the entire university community, including our alumni.
