SCRIBE Spring Book Club Meeting

The Office of Equity and Diversity, along with the Provost and Office Human Resources, is pleased to invite you to join our next book club meeting in recognition of Black History Month and the 50th Anniversary of Coeducation at The University of Scranton. 

For the Spring Semester, SCRIBE will be reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks- an easy and fascinating read about the real-life story of Henrietta, her family and an immortal human cell line harvested from Henrietta Lacks, a mother of 5 children who was a tobacco farmer and descendant of slaves. Author Rebecca Skloot tells the Lacks’ family story in a compelling examination of human dignity, human rights, and bioethics. 

This program is for University of Scranton employees only.

  • Books are available in OED, Institute of Molecualr Biology and Medicine, Suite 315, at no cost to faculty and staff who register for the book club luncheon meeting.
  • The club will meet on Tuesday, February 28 @ 12:00pm in DeNaples 405. Registration is required.  Spots are limited.
