The Philosophy Department is conducting a search to fill the McDevitt Chair in Philosophy. The second of our candidates, Christopher Tollefson, will be speaking this Thursday, March 21, at 8:00 P.M. in LSC 133 on “How not to Lie: The Casuistry of Non-disclosure.” Professor Tollefson currently teaches at University of South Carolina-Columbia and specializes in Natural Law Ethics, Practical Ethics, and Bioethics. He was a Visiting Fellow of James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University in 2011-2012. He has published widely including Biomedical Research and Beyond: Expanding the Ethics of Inquiry (Routledge) and Embryo: A Defense of Human Life (Doubleday).
