Anti-Street Harassment Open Forum

Friday, 04 April, 2014

March 30, 2014-April 5, 2014 is International Anti-Street Harassment Week. Catcalls, sexually explicit comments, sexist remarks, groping, leering, stalking, public masturbation, and assault. Most women (more than 80% worldwide) and LGBQT folks will face gender-based street harassment at some point in their life. Street harassment limits people's mobility and access to public spaces. It is a form of gender violence and it's a human rights violation. It needs to stop.

To raise awareness about the issue, the Jane Kopas Women's Center is hosting, along with the Office of Public Safety, an open forum about gender violence at The University of Scranton and the community.

To RSVP by March 28, 2014, please contact Justine Johnson, JKWC Director at justine.johnson@scranton.edu or 570-941-6194.
